How can regions turn agricultural residues, livestock waste and other underused resources into sustainable economic opportunities?
On Wednesday, 1 July 2026, the RIBES project will bring together researchers, public authorities, circular economy experts and innovation actors in Thessaloniki for a workshop dedicated to advancing the circular bioeconomy through regional innovation and biomass valorisation.
The workshop will explore how regional collaboration, multi-actor engagement and practical innovation can support more sustainable approaches to agri-food waste management, renewable energy generation and bio-based entrepreneurship.
Participants will hear from experts working on the RIBES Strategic Roadmap and sustainability assessment within Multi-actor Transformative Forums, alongside representatives of initiatives including LIFE-IP CEI-Greece, BIOMETHAVERSE, PRIMARY and BioTheRoS.
The programme will also examine innovative waste collection systems, digital solutions for the energy transition, and the evolving EU regulatory framework for carbon removals and carbon farming.
