Official Launch of the RIBES Project

 

March 23 of 2024 marks the official launch of an exciting new Horizon Europe research initiative, the Regional Inclusive Biobased Entrepreneurship Solutions (RIBES) project.

The kick-off meeting for the RIBES project took place in the beautiful city of Trieste, bringing together twenty (20) partners from across Europe. This diverse consortium is united by a common goal: to promote the use of bio-based innovations by developing innovative governance and business models that integrate the circular bioeconomy, social innovation, and rural development. The project spans nine (9) European regions, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and inclusivity.

Coordinated by the Central European Initiative (CEI), the RIBES project boasts a robust consortium of experts specializing in bioeconomy, sustainable economy, governance, rural development, business management, and research. This diverse group of partners is committed to driving the transition towards a sustainable, circular bioeconomy that benefits all regions involved.

Key Objectives of the RIBES Project:

 

  • Promote Bio-Based Innovations: Develop and implement new governance and business models that encourage the adoption of bio-based solutions.
  • Foster Social Innovation: Integrate social innovation practices to support inclusive and sustainable development in rural and peri-urban areas.
  • Enhance Rural Development: Strengthen rural economies by creating value chains that leverage local resources and capacities.
  • Emphasize Sustainability: Ensure all project activities contribute to environmental sustainability and the responsible use of natural resources.
