SUMMARY:International Conference on Environmental Science & Technology - CEST 2025
DESCRIPTION:Started in 1989\, the International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (CEST) is a leading environmental conference where top experts\, scientists\, entrepreneurs\, representatives of public administration and social initiatives present state-of-the-art research on current and emerging environmental issues. Thus\, CEST has been established as a forum for the convergence of business and academia\, where cutting-edge concepts\, research\, and solutions form the cornerstone of a more sustainable\, healthy\, and clean environment. \nThe Global Network of Environmental Science and Technology is organizing the conference jointly with the University of the Aegean (Greece)\, the University of Salerno (Italy)\, and the Open University of Cyprus (Cyprus). \nCEST2025 is announced at a pivotal time when the intensifying climate crisis is challenging the resilience of societies worldwide and reshaping the planet’s natural systems. \nClimate change is linked with the depletion and contamination of water resources\, a problem exacerbated by the increasing frequency of extreme weather events. Effective wastewater treatment and innovative water management practices are essential in addressing this scarcity while minimizing pollution that threatens ecosystems and public health. Biodiversity\, already under severe strain from habitat loss and environmental degradation\, faces even greater threats as shifting temperatures disrupt ecosystems and the species that rely on them. \nCEST2025 will also explore the role of a circular economy in mitigating these impacts by reducing waste\, promoting sustainable resource use\, and driving innovations that foster environmental and economic resilience. Bringing together experts from multiple fields\, this event aims to catalyze collaborative solutions for a more sustainable future. \nYou can find more information here. \n\nWhen: 03/09/2025\nWhere: Island of Kos\, Greece

SUMMARY:Bioeconomy Regions Summit
DESCRIPTION:The world is currently facing an urgent need to combat climate change and protect biodiversity. Regions possess unique policy instruments\, such as rural development plans\, smart specialisation strategies (RIS3)\, dedicated bioeconomy strategies\, and tailored funding mechanisms. \nGiven their impact on local environments and economies\, regions are uniquely positioned to drive the forest bioeconomy agenda forward. Moreover\, they face common challenges – such as implementing an adequate policy mix\, funding innovative developments\, increasing cross-sectoral collaboration\, or fostering social engagement and participation. \nThere is a great opportunity for learning and collaboration between European regions\, especially in the policy-rich context of Brussels. The Bioregions Facility intends to bridge the gap between knowledge and policies\, enhancing collaboration\, co-creation of knowledge\, and communication. \nYou can find more information here. \n\nWhen: 28 November 2024\nTime: 9:00–17:00 CET\nWhere: Representation of North Rhine-Westphalia to EU venue\, Brussels\, Belgium
